DURA AND FARO WIN SELECTION IN NIJVERDAL
15/03/2017 - Dura Vermeer Bouw from Hengelo and FARO have won the selection for the Karel Doormanweg in Nijverdal. Together we will work to create 24 energy neutral dwellings in this beautiful lane with spacious structure for Dutch standards for the housing association WST Hellendoorn.
The urban plan by FARO maintains the lane qualities. Almost all trees are maintained along the curved road, creating a high living quality for many years to come. The curve has subtly been made extra curvy, allowing for a different perspective on the dwellings with every step you take. When you arrive from the city, from the south, you will see urban facades, with brick and real chimneys. Arriving from the north, from the countryside, you will see the influence from Twente and Salland, with wooden shield on the facades.
The architecture is a combination of very good principal dwellings, with modern techniques and com-fort, combined with details from the region. These details are partially based on the architecture of the existing dwellings, and partially based on the architecture from the surroundings.
