URBAN COURTYARDS AT DE HALLEN, KWINTIJN PHASE 2 AMSTERDAM
Because of the success of Kwintijn 1, FARO and Van Wijnen got the opportunity to also develop the second phase.
Forming an urban setting around an inner courtyard there are three blocks for three different target groups: condo’s, social housing and rental. At the side of the Bilderdijkkade is room for 5 CPO blocks of 12 dwellings each. The entire complex is built on a 340 units carpark.
Architectonically these buliding form a connection between Kwintijn 1 and the 19th century Kwakerstraat. Robust nuanced red brown brick, a strong ground floor and clear pitched roof end make the ensemble fit in the neighborhood. The 5 CPO blocks will have a more rich and alternating look. FARO is also coordinating architect for these developments.
