SMART HOUSE FOR ENEXIS
The Enexis house is a show case for modern life with an energy network. A house that harvests energy from sustainable sources and gives energy back to the grid. The house is designed to be sustainable with regards to energy and in choice of materials, but also in educating the occupants and their interaction with their immediate surroundings.
The city of Almere organized a design competition for urban villas and a residential tower for the Cascade park. The designs needed to fit within the ambition to develop the Cascade park as a ‘window of sustainability’: an inspiring example for ecological, social and economical sustainability. FARO designed the winning entry for a residential tower. The location of the tower is unique, as it, with at least 57 residences, will form the head (or tail) of the park.

‘Cradle to Cradle in the polder’
For a world heritage site, the story is just as important as the physical object itself; a good story for a monument suddenly makes a history lesson tangible and inspiring. The cradle legend brings an extra dimension to the sustainable cradle-to-cradle philosophy. ‘Cradle to Cradle in the polder’ weaves all kinds of points of view together; with attention for both material as well as immaterial heritage.
