09/08/2017 — The construction work for the new Animal Ambulance in The Hague is advancing successfully. Of course, a cat flap with its own lintel cannot miss in this construction!

In 2015 FARO architects won the competition for the new accommodation for the Animal Ambulance The Hague (DADH). We designed a tailored building for both people and animals. For example, the cats will be able to independently choose their own spot inside or outside through their own cat flaps.

Parts of the cultural heritage Atlantikwall are also present on the building site. FARO designed a con-trast between the concrete bunkers and the building for the Animal Ambulance: the new Animal Ambu-lance building is inspired by the wooden farm house that used to be present on site. The buildings are tucked around the bunker, creating an interesting and rich cultural landscape.
