INSPIRATION PEAKS AT LJUBLJANA
04/10/2017 - Our annual office excursion towards Ljubljana (Slovenia) has brought us many inspiration peaks over the past weekend. With a team of 28 people we have been astounded by the beautiful architecture in this mountainous country.
We started by visiting the St. Michael church by Jože Plečnik. A nice contrast with the consequent visits to the hypermodern Islamic Center-under-construction by Bevk Perović arhitekti and the auton-omous artist neighbourhood of Metalkova Mesto. The diner at social restaurant Skuhna included an amazing djembé concert.
On Saturday we toured the city under the professional guidance of Aleksander Vujović and Peter Prinčič. With a tour on foot through the city center and a tour by bike through the outskirts of town we connected to both the traditional and the modern architecture of Ljubljana. Delicate details, with lots of smooth white granite, reminded us about the fact that ‘the eye is in the detail’.
With a bus trip on Sunday we concluded our journey by traveling the mountainous area between the cities of Brezje, Podkoren, Mojstrana, and Kamnik. Intrigued? Follow in our footsteps with the help of our excursion guide or watch our after movie.
