29/01/2018 – The super sustainable Geerpark in Vlijmen has been nominated for the Golden Kikker Award 2018. This award is part of the Duurzaam Gebouwd Awards and will be awarded this Thursday, February 1, 2018.

The Gouden Kikker Award is meant for cutting-edge innovative and sustainable projects that inspire others to build more sustainable in better ways. Geerpark in Vlijmen has been developed by housing cooperation Woonveste, the municipality Heusden, the province and the water board to become the ‘most sustainable neighborhood of the Netherlands’. The innovative project is a mix of super sustainable row houses, senior housing, apartments, and free building lots, and offers space for social interaction between the different types of dwellers. In preparation to new legislation by the Dutch government housing cooperation Woonveste has developed, together with FARO, the PEP-label. This contract allows for tenants to financially contribute to the sustainable measures taken, making the entire development possible.
