‘…IABR2014URBAN BY NATURE– claims that we can only solve the world’s environmental problems if we solve the problems of the city. With the use of new strategies that effectively address the city as the bigger urban landscape that it is, we can truly contribute to a more resilient urban world…’’

Contracted by IABR and the Municipality of Texel, Faro worked together with La4sale for a year on the Planet Texel project workshop. The result can be seen throughout the summer as part of the Urban By Nature exhibition in Rotterdam Kunsthal. The exhibition had its festive opening last Wednesday.

Planet Texel stands for Tourism, Ecology X Economy Landscape (X= sustainability). A kind of moving Mesdag panorama demonstrated how the seven Texel Principles, a Texel Toolbox and a series of Views will prepare Texel for a new future. Texel has great ambitions and aims to be a sustainable energy and new saline cultivation pioneer. Texel as testing ground for the entire planet: test it on Texel.
